Who's Your Coach?

There is both an expectation as well as the permission to design me as your perfect coach. And, there are also things you should know about who I am, what I believe, and the approach I bring to this work.

What I Believe

I truly believe that you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. I know that you have the answers and are infinitely wise when it comes to tapping into your inner knowledge, experience, and power. I want you to have the life you want - creating the impact you desire and leaving behind a legacy in which you believe.   I believe in living life fully alive and in the moment and I believe in living life with no regrets.

As a coach, I trust that it is my role to hold the space for your growth and encourage your agenda. For the sake of your magnificent life, I will ask powerful questions, reflect what I experience and intuit, and challenge you to move in action and deepen your learning. I will provide the accountability and support that you need to create what you want, experience “now” more deeply, and push your limits of possibility. I believe anything is possible. I do all this because I believe in you and I believe you have choices every step of the way.

Who I Am
Coaching is about you, not me. However, I may on occasion pull from my life experience and training to deepen your coaching experience – so, some personal context may be helpful:

Prior to starting The Winner Within, Inc., I spent several rewarding years raising my three children: Curtis, Rob, and Mari. Prior to that, I worked in sales for AT&T, managing national accounts. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and my MBA from the University of Iowa. I have earned my coaching certification through the Coaches Training Institute, am accredited through the International Coach Federation (the governing body for coaches), and am licensed and certified as a Wellness coach through Wellcoaches. I am passionate about coaching and am always deepening my learning, which currently includes a course in Creating Visualizations and Coaching for Recovery. I love to travel, explore new activities, and laugh.

My Coaching Approach
Based on my intuitive interaction and thinking style, I was drawn to learn and practice the Co-Active Coaching method developed by the Coaches Training Institute. While not limited to this style of coaching, their Co-Active Model provides a clear framework for coaching and the designed alliance between coach and client. The Four Cornerstone of the Co-Active Model guides my approach:

  • The client is naturally creative, resourceful and whole; the coach has the questions and the client has the answers.
  • Co-Active coaching addresses the client’s whole life; the focus is on the client’s fulfillment, balance, and process.
  • The agenda comes from the client; the relationship is focused on the client getting the results they want.
  • The coach dances in the moment with the client; we coach what shows up, with fluid give and take between the client and coach.
